- Their ORIGIN Matthew 25:41
* Isa. 14:12-15; Rev. 12:3,4 - Angels who revolted and fell with Satan.
* Not spirits of dead people, nor some pre-Adamic race (though angels preceded him).
* Matt. 10:1 - Unclean: Encourage moral filthiness.
* Matt. 12:45 - Wicked: Behind wicked actions of mankind.
* Mark 5:1-20 - Evil: After the evil one, Matt. 13:19.
* James 2:19, Luke 8:28 - They have 'faith' in God and know Jesus is Son of God.
- Their ORGANIZATION - Here on earth and from heaven, not hell.
* Eph. 2:2 - Prince of power of the air. He is not reigning from hell. He is here.
* 1 Pet. 5:8 - Prowls about like a roaring lion. He and his are busy here.
* Eph. 6:12 - Hierarchy laid out. This is an organized kingdom and army.
* Matt. 12:24 - He is the ruler of the demons. Top of the organization.
* Dan. 10:13 - Shows, as Prince of Kingdom of Persia, that there are special fallen angels assigned to wage war.
* Christians often so busy fighting each other that they don't have time for the real battle.

- Their OPERATION - Deceivers and Destroyers.
* Mat. 10:8 - Not all sickness is demonic ("heal the sick… cast out demons…")
* 1 Tim. 4:1ff - Teachers of false doctrines.
* Acts 16:16-18 - Promote occult and divination (foretell future).
* 1 Cor. 10: 14-22 - Force behind idolatry. Satan wants to be worshipped, demons help.
* Eph. 2:1-3 - Works in and through unsaved people.
* Mat. 16:21-23, Acts 5 - Influence saved people also to work for him.
* 2 Cor. 11:14 - Angel of light: If they can't lure us with obvious sin, then will use religion to snare people (morality w/o righteousness). Self-righteous church members are convinced they are saints, and so may never come to know or serve Christ.
- Their OUTCOME - What will happen to Satan and his army?
* Mat. 12:22-29 - Jesus bound the strong man. Christ overcame all power aimed against Him: coming to earth by killing the children, on the cross, the resurrection!
* Eph. 4:8 - Jesus led captive a host of captives, and they became His soldiers.
* 2 Thess. 2:1-12 - The Holy Spirit is restraining the mystery of lawless ness.
* Rev. 12 - When Church is taken up, then for a time he will have reign to destroy.
* Mat. 25:41; Rev. 20:1-3 - Devil and his angels will be cast into place of eternal fire.
** The believer must avoid (2) extremes when it comes to the matter of demons:
1. Seeing a demon behind every tree. - Leads to fanatical fears.
2. Treating the doctrine of demons with disdain or contempt. - Leads
to False Security.
* Understand the workings of demonic forces, then how to detect and defeat them. Jesus defeated demons by the Spirit (Mat. 12:28), and so can we in Him.
* 1 Jn. 4:4 - Greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world.
